Saint Thomas Research Institute is a unit of Saint Thomas Health Services, a regional network of hospitals, clinics and physicians committed to patient-centered care and dedicated to service. We are a clinical research site composed of four community hospitals within Middle Tennessee.
We improve the health of our communities by working with Sponsors, Physicians and Patients throughout the Saint Thomas Health Services network to foster the discovery and application of medical treatments and procedures.

We coordinate locally based clinical research in Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Pulmonology, Women’s Health and other areas. These research studies can give you access to cutting-edge medical care.
For our physicians
We present opportunities to take part in cutting-edge research that has the potential to improve the health of your patients. With decades of cumulative clinical research experience, we can coordinate studies from protocol review and contract negotiation through review board submission, launch and actual study coordination.
For our sponsors
We provide a single point of contact that harnesses the power of more than 2,000 physicians across Middle Tennessee. Many of these doctors are research champions with strong research interests and experience with track records of consistently high enrollment. We use the services of a central Institutional Review Board that meets weekly.
